This is a program by industry, for industry.

Working within the fishing and seafood industry comes with unique challenges and risks, and every person deserves to return home safely. This website has been developed to support the Australian commercial seafood industry by sharing practical safety information, tools, and real-world stories that raise awareness of common hazards and promote safer ways of working. By learning from experience, improving safety culture, and supporting one another, we can help create a safer industry for everyone.

Safety is one of Seafood Industry Australia’s key priorities. The National Seafood Industry Safety Project aims to achieve a positive change in workplace safety culture to ensure that the Australian Seafood Industry “Keeps its People Safe.” SIA will continue to develop tools to assist our industry to arrive home safely every time they go to work. We also have an industry-specific mental health program, Stay Afloat. To find out more, visit www.stayafloat.com.au.

We are looking for people from every community and every sector to contribute their knowledge and experience to the program. Whether you are interested in helping us to steer the project, becoming a local safety advocate, or simply sharing your views and staying in touch, you are encouraged to join the conversation.
