Participants will gain confidence to start a simple, supportive conversation with a mate about wellbeing.

Drugs, alcohol and substance use: managing risk in the workplace

Participants will learn the risks and negative safety outcomes which can result from substance use/abuse during work. Participants will understand the expectations and rules around substance use in seafood operations.

Machinery safety: preventing crush and entanglement injuries

Participants will learn the main equipment and machinery risks and safety outcomes.

Confined spaces: when one mistake can be fatal

Participants will recognise the safety risks associated with confined spaces and will learn safe-entry procedures.

Fire safety: preventing catastrophic losses

Participants will be walked through a fire-risk hazard assessment on a theoretical vessel. Participants will learn how to identify fire risks and hazards and implement controls to prevent them.
